Electro-Mechanical Engineering Intern

The position is for a Summer 2025 Electro-Mechanical Engineering Internship at GAF Energy, focusing on research and development in solar roofing technology. The intern will work closely with the R&D team on innovative projects related to solar energy and power conversion.

• Develop HMI software to interface data acquisition tools with environmental test chambers.
• Configure data acquisition tools and control chamber operations.
• Supervise the fabrication of interface panels and order necessary hardware.
• Assist in mechanical assembly of the system.
• Analyze accelerated environmental testing data for photovoltaic device reliability.
• Engage in power electronics applications related to solar BIPV.
• Collaborate with the R&D team on forward-looking research projects.

• Senior or graduate student in electrical, mechanical, or computer science engineering.
• Strong background in hardware and software development.
• Excellent Python programming skills, including HMI and data acquisition.
• Understanding of basic controls, electrical, and electronics circuit theory.
• Ability to read and generate circuit diagrams.
• Proficient in CAD development (desirable).
• Basic skills with hand tools and power tools.
