Responsibilities
- Design, build, and validate prototypes of new electrochemical cell architectures and experimental setups.
- Conduct an iterative design process to confirm mechanical and electrochemical requirements.
- Perform engineering analysis including hand calculations, FEA, CFD, and materials testing.
- Prototype designs in-house or through external manufacturers.
- Document the design process and results via written documentation, CAD files, and engineering drawings.
- Propose creative solutions to problems and collaborate across teams.
- Communicate proactively with battery scientists and other team members.
Job Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated experience in CAD (e.g., SolidWorks).
- Comfort with machine shop fabrication tools and hands-on building.
- Knowledge of engineering first principles.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience or coursework in chemistry/electrochemistry is a plus (but not required).
