Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a team of mechanical engineers to advance product development efforts.
- Lead the product development process and mechanical design of battery cell components.
- Define and drive necessary analysis, including FEA and failure analysis of structural components.
- Analyze component and assembly tolerances and develop performance/reliability trades.
- Collaborate with module design engineers for seamless component integration.
- Ensure design decisions meet safety standards in collaboration with safety and compliance teams.
- Partner with manufacturing engineers to release design packages for high-volume production.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years of industry experience in mechanical design with proficiency in CAD.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience leading, managing, and mentoring engineering teams.
- Expertise in plastic component design for structural applications.
- Familiarity with plastic sealing technologies and their implementation.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Direct experience with high-volume manufacturing and tight-tolerance design.
