Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer

Lila Sciences is seeking a Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to join their Hardware & Controls Engineering team. The role involves designing components for bench-scale robotics and automation in life sciences and physical sciences, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

• Lead the design and implementation of bench-scale robotics and mechanical systems.
• Design pneumatic, electro-mechanical, and optical solutions for robotic workcells.
• Mentor teams in CAD design and analysis using SolidWorks.
• Direct the creation and validation of designs through rapid prototyping methods.
• Collaborate to integrate mechanical designs with software and controls.
• Develop strategies for automating manual workflows while ensuring safety and quality.
• Coordinate with external vendors for component development and system integration.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical engineering experience in automation.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD design, GD&T, and DFMA.
• Experience with requirement management and product lifecycle management systems.
• Demonstrated leadership in managing complex projects.
• Preferred experience in automation across scientific domains and robotic integration.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to continuous learning.
