Responsibilities
- Provide vision and leadership for the design, development, manufacturing, and integration of structural aspects of vehicles.
- Lead and manage a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians.
- Serve as chief architect of integrated airframe and tank structures.
- Establish and maintain department standards and documentation.
- Define and manage budget, headcount, schedules, and deliverables for the Structures Engineering department.
- Oversee hardware development and qualification test definitions.
- Coordinate closely with program leadership to align structural milestones with company objectives.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years in aerospace structures with 5+ years in leadership roles.
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field.
- Demonstrated ownership of structural design/analysis through flight.
- Proficiency in FEM and hand analysis, materials fundamentals, and test planning.
- Experience with change control and configuration management.
- Hands-on design/analysis/test involvement while leading teams.
- Familiarity with aerospace standards and structural analysis methods.
