Responsibilities
- Provide vision and leadership for the design, development, manufacturing, and integration of structural aspects of vehicles.
- Lead and manage a multi-discipline team of engineers and technicians, ensuring professional development and performance accountability.
- Serve as chief architect for integrated airframe and tank structures, driving design trades and decisions.
- Establish and maintain department standards and ensure compliance with regulations.
- Define and manage budget, schedules, and deliverables for the Structures Engineering department.
- Oversee hardware development and qualification test definitions.
- Support cross-functional collaboration to optimize workflow and resolve conflicts.
Job Requirements
- 10+ years in aerospace structures with 5+ years leading teams delivering flight hardware.
- B.S. in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related field.
- Demonstrated ownership of structural design/analysis and qualification testing.
- Proficiency in FEM and hand analysis, materials/allowables, and test planning.
- Track record as a player-coach with hands-on involvement in design and analysis.
- Experience with change control and configuration management.
- Desired 15+ years of experience in structures or mechanical engineering.
