Electrical Engineer – Power Electronics & Motor Control

The role involves designing efficient and reliable power systems for autonomous delivery robots at DoorDash Labs, focusing on motor control and energy efficiency.

• Design and develop power electronic systems, including inverters and motor drives.
• Implement control algorithms for various motor types.
• Conduct system modeling and simulation to validate designs.
• Create circuit designs for power converters and motor control systems.
• Build prototypes and perform testing in lab and real-world environments.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers on thermal management strategies.
• Ensure compliance with EMI/EMC standards and perform failure analysis.

• Experience in automotive, aerospace, or renewable energy applications.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in power electronics design or motor control.
• Strong understanding of motor control techniques.
• Proficiency in circuit design and simulation tools.
• Experience with high-voltage design and protection strategies.
• Hands-on experience in PCB design with EMI/EMC considerations.
