Responsibilities
- Designing indoor sheet metal enclosures and products per customer specifications and industry standards.
- Developing mechanical and electromechanical products by studying customer requirements and researching manufacturing methods.
- Compiling and releasing bills-of-material (BOM) and engineering documentation for projects.
- Interfacing with suppliers on product design and cost issues.
- Collaborating with Product Management, Procurement, Production, and Quality departments for raw materials and product production.
- Communicating effectively with peers as a team player.
- Utilizing 3D/2D CAD modeling software for design tasks.
Job Requirements
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
- Minimum of 10 years of mechanical design experience in the telecom power and/or electronics industry.
- Proficient in metal enclosure designs and 3D modeling software such as Solidworks and AutoCAD.
- Understanding of AC and DC circuits, including 3-phase AC and low-voltage DC.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office and graphic presentation software.
- Knowledge of power systems engineering and system control/alarm wiring.
- Familiarity with Telcordia, UL, National Electric Code, and NEBS requirements.
