Responsibilities

  • Create design documents and drawings for projects, including wiring diagrams and bills of materials.
  • Perform engineering support tasks such as relay burden, lighting, load flow, and short circuit calculations.
  • Use engineering application software for ground grid design, relay coordination, transformer sizing, and studies.
  • Review project schedules and collaborate with project engineers to ensure timely completion.
  • Apply engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.
  • Supervise project activities and ensure quality and accuracy of work.
  • Communicate and coordinate project activities with project engineers and customer representatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in substation engineering design; senior roles require 7+ years.
  • Familiarity with electrical relays used in the electric power utility industry.
  • Experience in designing electrical schematics for relay applications and control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals and three-phase power systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
  • Must be eligible for professional engineering licensure in multiple states within one year of hire.
