Responsibilities
- Create design documents and drawings for projects with minimal supervision.
- Perform engineering support tasks such as relay burden and load flow calculations.
- Use engineering application software for tasks like ground grid design and relay coordination.
- Review project schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Apply engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI.
- Supervise project activities and communicate with project engineers and clients.
- Gain hands-on knowledge at job sites related to substation construction and design.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience in substation engineering design.
- Familiarity with electrical relays used in the electric power utility industry.
- Experience in designing electrical schematics for relay applications.
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC fundamentals and three-phase power systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment.
- Must be a licensed professional engineer or able to gain licensure within a year.
