The role of Manufacturing Engineer III – Integration at Blue Origin involves providing manufacturing definition in support of the New Glenn Rocket, creating build documents, designing production tools, and working in a cross-functional team to ensure safe and efficient space vehicle production.
Responsibilities
- Creating build & flow artifacts including build plans and duration estimates.
- Performing trades with design teams to enable fabrication and integration of composite parts.
- Leading development efforts to optimize build plans and reduce critical path durations.
- Serving as the technical point of contact during build execution on the production floor.
- Identifying and procuring required tools and organizing the work area for vehicle production.
- Collaborating with tooling, facilities, and project management teams.
- Ensuring commitment to safety and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of five years of experience in aircraft or spacecraft composites fabrication and assembly.
- Experience driving a product from concept development into production.
- Knowledge of hardware manufacturing practices such as drilling and composites fabrication.
- Proficiency in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (Creo or CATIA V5).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
- Ability to build effective working relationships and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
