Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, integrate, and test rocket structures with a focus on composites and metallic pressure vessels.
- Progress components through the lifecycle: concept, design, analysis, manufacturing, and flight testing.
- Work closely with thermal and propulsion systems and interact with customers and other departments.
- Design and analyze welded pressure vessels and propellant tanks, including structural components.
- Assess designs for manufacturability and support the manufacturing team with instructions and tooling.
- Support the development of internal manufacturing processes and standards.
- Document and present project results effectively.
Job Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of composites experience in design and analysis.
- Proficiency in Solidworks or relevant CAD systems.
- Familiarity with a range of materials and manufacturing processes.
- Experience with design and analysis of prototype components.
- Hands-on fabrication experience including CNC operation and welding.
- Knowledge of aerospace systems and operational space systems.
