Responsibilities
- Mechanical design of propulsion subsystem, sub-systems, and test fixtures.
- Collaborating with the propulsion team to create low-mass and low-cost designs.
- Generating detailed designs and conducting thermal modeling and structural analysis.
- Supporting integration of designs into propulsion performance models.
- Performing tolerance analyses and verifying critical clearances.
- Preparing documentation for design review gates.
- Supporting or leading corrective action plans for manufacturing non-conformances.
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- Experience with prototyping and implementation.
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
- 3+ years experience with CAD software (Siemens NX, SolidWorks, etc.).
- 1+ year experience with GD&T per ANSI Y14.5M.
- Flight hardware experience and knowledge of machining processes.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) in structural or mechanical engineering is preferred.
