Responsibilities
- Design and enhance solar modules for Kuiper Satellites, focusing on test, reliability, and materials.
- Analyze requirements for trade studies and solar module interfaces.
- Create and manage detailed CAD models and documentation for solar module designs.
- Conduct analysis for compliance with load conditions (static, dynamic, thermal, fatigue).
- Build prototype solar modules for process and design validation.
- Develop test plans and qualification strategies for reliability assessments.
- Produce comprehensive design packages including analysis reports and documentation.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Materials Science, or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years of experience as a mechanical engineer.
- At least 2 years of experience with solar modules or solar arrays.
- Proficiency in CAD and PLM systems.
- Experience in developing specifications and test plans for complex systems.
- Preferred qualifications include project management experience and a Master's degree.
- Knowledge of hardware design for space environmental factors.
