Responsibilities
- Perform mechanical design and layout trade studies for satellite payloads and ground-based communication equipment.
- Contribute to overall system architecture, integrating inputs from cross-discipline teams.
- Conduct structural and thermal analysis to support design work and ensure customer requirements are met.
- Facilitate cost trades for design configurations.
- Generate detailed designs using CAD systems and create engineering drawings.
- Deliver documentation and presentations for technical design reviews and proposals.
- Design and support test campaigns for space hardware.
Job Requirements
- BSME from an ABET accredited university.
- 3+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer and designer.
- 1+ year of experience designing electronic enclosures.
- Experience with structural and thermal engineering analysis methods and tools.
- Preferred: 2+ years designing space-based electro-mechanical systems.
- Preferred: 2+ years using NX CAD for model and drawing creation.
- Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain a US Government security clearance of TS/SCI.
