Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive interior structures such as dashboards, center consoles, door panels, and seating frames.
- Utilize CAD software (e.g., CATIA, NX, SolidWorks) to create 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Conduct engineering analysis, including FEA and tolerance stack-ups, to ensure structural integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
- Support prototype development, testing, and validation of interior components.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (SAE, FMVSS, ISO) and customer specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for weight reduction, sustainability, and cost savings.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive interior structural design.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA, Siemens NX, or SolidWorks.
- Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes (injection molding, stamping, welding, etc.).
- Experience with DFM, DFA, and GD&T principles.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
