Electrical Substation Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Support electrical engineering design work on assigned projects.
  • Develop substation design documents including physical designs and general arrangement drawings.
  • Create various diagrams such as one-line, three-line, and AC/DC schematics.
  • Conduct power system studies and calculations for grounding, cable sizing, and transformer sizing.
  • Collaborate with senior staff on design schedules and budgets.
  • Participate in construction support and commissioning.
  • Review engineering work performed by peers and assist with fieldwork.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 4+ years of relevant substation experience.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification.
  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with power systems analysis software.
  • Preferred: Professional engineering licensure and experience on full EPC projects.
