Material and Process Engineer

The position is for a Senior Materials Engineer at Lockheed Martin Space, focusing on providing expertise in materials and processes for the Fleet Ballistic Missile Program. The role involves technical engineering assignments related to hardware assembly and testing, with an emphasis on government contracting issues.

• Perform Materials and Processes (M&P) technical engineering assignments.
• Provide technical evaluation and support for manufacturing issues.
• Participate in selection, qualification, testing, and failure analysis of materials.
• Prepare technical and progress reports, specifications, and analyze test reports.
• Coordinate with Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, and Procurement.
• Advise senior management on government contracting issues.
• Assist in obtaining necessary security clearances.

• Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Material Sciences, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Familiarity with materials and process engineering disciplines.
• Experience in reviewing engineering drawings and providing guidance.
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance (US Citizenship required).
• Strong communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Experience in non-conformance and failure analysis.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under timeline pressure.
