Responsibilities
- Design and implement new mechanical systems and subsystems according to approved specifications.
- Participate in the development of product requirements, specifications, and schedules.
- Conduct feasibility studies of various designs to determine functionality and reliability.
- Perform troubleshooting of designs in conjunction with other cross-functional team members.
- Work with the project management team on scheduling, improvements, and resolving design issues.
- Evaluate and recommend design changes and specifications when necessary.
- Conduct, coordinate, and/or supervise the product design, verification, and validation with various internal and external sources to meet product milestones.
Job Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET certified institution required.
- 5 to 10 years’ experience with mechanical design.
- 3+ years of SolidWorks or expert knowledge of other 3D CAD modeling systems.
- Experience with SolidWorks Simulation is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of structural design principles.
- Practical knowledge of machinery product design, verification, and validation processes and methods.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with a team and interface with multiple departments.
