Thea Energy is offering an internship program for technical interns to work on developing fusion energy technology using stellarator physics and engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and exercise design, analysis, and hands-on skills to support prototyping and stellarator design activities.
  • Support process development, fabrication, assembly, equipment design, and testing for HTS magnet prototyping programs.
  • Assist in the design, build, testing, and performance analysis of custom HTS magnets.
  • Support the development and execution of test equipment, facilities, and operations for custom HTS magnets and related hardware.
  • Assist in designing and developing various subsystems for stellarator fusion devices.
  • Model magnetically confined high-temperature fusion plasmas using computational tools.
  • Support computational physicists and plasma physicists in optimizing stellarator magnetic geometry for fusion devices.

Job Requirements

  • Enrolled in a STEM undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Interest in clean and sustainable energy.
  • Hands-on or computational experience in relevant fields.
  • Highly self-motivated and problem-solving skills.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
  • Willingness to learn new things.
