Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop designs for Starship's propulsion system turbomachinery.
- Design, build, and test turbopumps for Starship.
- Perform structural analysis on components and assemblies, including thermal deformation analysis.
- Develop and train teammates to support product ownership using risk-conscious decision-making.
- Interface with the production team to ensure designs are successfully implemented.
- Maintain a positive attitude in the face of challenges.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
- 2+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and structural analysis.
- Experience with 3D CAD modeling, GD&T, and manufacturing processes.
- Master’s degree in an engineering discipline preferred.
- Experience with ANSYS for structural analysis is a plus.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics and structural design in demanding environments.
- Willingness to work extended hours and in various environmental conditions.
