Responsibilities
- Lead ring development projects, defining project requirements and production introduction plans.
- Design complex moving parts in the piston and ring system, from ideation to testing.
- Assess failure modes involving thermal, structural, and material interactions.
- Develop system models to inform component design based on field observations.
- Conduct accelerated life tests in the lab on benchtop and in-generator experiments.
Job Requirements
- Masters in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of experience or PhD with 7+ years.
- Proven self-starter with leadership skills in a fast-paced environment.
- Design experience with high-performance parts released to market.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software, including structural FEA.
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics and heat transfer; knowledge in tribology, fluids, and materials is a plus.
- Ability to generate 2D manufacturing drawings; experience with GD&T preferred.
- Capability to develop system models for component performance analysis.
