Mechanical Engineer

The role is for a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Formlabs, a company focused on bringing professional 3D printers to various professionals.

• Prototype new mechanisms, test materials, and research 3D printing challenges
• Analyze, test, validate and iterate on electro-mechanical systems
• Create detailed designs in CAD and well-specified, accurate drawings
• Collaborate with Global Sourcing and Manufacturing Teams for mass production
• Push the capabilities of 3D printing and maximize customer value
• Engineer desktop 3D printers

• Experience with part design, material selection, and manufacturing techniques
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software like Solidworks/Onshape
• Familiarity with manufacturing techniques such as injection molding and sheet metal fabrication
• Ability to prototype designs and work through the product development cycle
• Strong communication skills with vendors and suppliers
• Hands-on problem-solving approach and willingness to cross boundaries
• Bonus skills in programming, contract manufacturing, PLM systems, and industrial design.
