Mechanical Design Engineer, Sensors (Avionics)

The role is for a Mechanical Design Engineer in the Sensors Development team at SpaceX, focusing on designing high-performance electronic sensors for advanced launch vehicles and spacecraft.

• Develop innovative sensor designs for physical sensors
• Build analytical and finite element models
• Create 3D models and complete tolerance analysis
• Conduct failure analysis of components
• Interface with production teams for design production

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
• 3+ years of experience in sensor design
• Knowledge of fundamental sensing mechanisms
• Experience with thermal and structural FEA
• Proficiency in NX and TeamCenter
• Willingness to support extended hours and weekends for project timelines
• Must meet ITAR requirements for U.S. citizenship or authorization
