Opto-Mechanical Engineer

The role is for an Opto-Mechanical Engineer at Meta, focusing on developing next-generation AR systems and working on display systems integration.

• Drive discussions on system assembly process and prototyping
• Conduct design and DFM reviews of display systems integration
• Support process validation studies and proof-of-concept builds
• Design systems for automation integration and high-volume production environments
• Apply engineering knowledge in optics, precision mechanism design, and motion control
• Document best practices, SOPs, and cost models

• Optomechanical background with knowledge of high precision alignment processes
• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in designing high precision assembly tools for optical/imaging devices
• Experience in designing alignment mechanisms, motion control systems, and automated dispensing
• Knowledge of mechanical and optics metrology devices
• Experience working with international equipment vendors and contract manufacturers
• Knowledge of structural and stress analysis and FEA
