Responsibilities
- Design and execute testing to evaluate performance and reliability of piezoelectric pump architectures.
- Develop protocols to characterize pump behavior under various conditions.
- Analyze lifecycle data to identify failure modes and robustness of components.
- Build and maintain custom test benches with sensors and data acquisition systems.
- Collaborate with software and mechanical teams for integration into instrument design.
- Author a technical whitepaper summarizing findings and recommendations.
Job Requirements
- Enrollment in a Master’s or PhD program in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
- Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, with microfluidics experience preferred.
- Proficiency in data analysis software (MATLAB, Python, etc.).
- Experience with laboratory instrumentation and DAQ hardware.
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly in reports.
- Previous internship or research experience in hardware validation or medical device development preferred.
- Familiarity with CAD software for designing test fixtures.
